I know that in the early screening, around September, (before the movie was delayed) fans were very disappointed due to major changes in key scenes from the book. So I was wondering if WB did some editing during these last months to fix the movie, or if they just sat waiting to get more money... A few weeks ago I read a book called ‘10 Things I Hate About Me’ by Randa Abdel-Fattah. This it the blurb: “There are a lot of things Jamie hates about her life: her dark hair, her dad's Stone Age Charter of Curfew Rights, her real name, Jamilah Towfeek. For the past three years Jamie has hidden her Lebanese background from everyone at school. It's only with her email friend John that she can really be herself. Resolved Question: why is there such a debate about Harry Potter vs Twilight?

why is there such a debate between these 2 books/series in particular?? To me they seem to be 2 different types of books entirely - and only really share a common theme of being a fantasy genre. Ive read all 7 harry potter books (multiple times) ... and am a vivid fangirl of the series. Ive recently started the Twilight series and am currently at the start of the 2nd book. Resolved Question: Do any other writers find them obsessed with name websites?

I love to write and I'm always finding myself on these baby name websites or looking up the origins or meanings of names. Any time I find something interesting that I like, I write it down as a future reference for any time I need a character's name. But recently, I've been getting even more into the backstories and meanings. It's sort of like an inside joke between me and any reader that is also interested in this sort of thing. Anyone else like that? I think I got into it because while reading Harry Potter, I was constanlty looking up names to find out if I could learn spoilers about their character (Sirius is the dog star, he can turn into a dog. Remus Lupin is a werewolf, Remus is from the legend of Remus and Romulus, two boys raised by wolves and Lupin comes from lupus which means moon. Etc.). If you are into that kind of website/book, do you have any suggestions? My main source is Behindthename.com, but I'm starting to get bored of seeing the same things over and over. more

Open Question: I have a question about Harry Potter book 6 and book 7?

THIS QUESTION CONTAINS SPOILERS! So when Dumbledore died, Harry was upset that he wasn't going to be able to talk to him anymore and get his help, right? What I don't understand is why Harry never tried talking to the Portrait of Dumbledore in the headmaster's office? I mean, I remember other times when Harry was in Dumbledore's office, the portraits of old headmasters would always talk and give random suggestions to Dumbledore. Harry probably could've spoken to Dumbledore throughout the WHOLE SEVENTH BOOK WHILE LOOKING FOR THE HORCRUXES if he'd have gotten Dumbledore's portait picture! ...But then again... wasn't there something in the seventh book about Neville, Luna and Ginny trying to steal the portrait of Dumbledore out of "Headmaster Snape's" office? Could THEY talk to him? Is that why they stole it?Oh yeah, you guys are right, it's the sword they stole, not the portrait. But if Harry had a chance to get to the portrait, would it have actually spoke to him like the real Dumbledore, do you think? And if they could've broken into Gringotts, why not Hogwarts even though Snapes there? Then again, Hogwarts has a lot of magic protection, they could've caught Harry there, too.... more

Ok, well my brother and I were having a friendly debate about Voldemort this afternoon, and I thought I would get your opinion on it. **SPOILERS for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire coming on** Well, my brother was on Voldemorts side, he said that he would only want the pure-bloods to be accepted as wizards. I just want to know what you think of this idea. Would you want all the muggle borns to stay like that, or would you like it if they came to Hogwarts and learned to be a better witch/wizard? Also, I need help clarifying a few points in TGOF, first off, Snape WAS a Death Eater, I know, but did he get caught? How did he get himself out? Im not really sure if he was in that memory thing that Dumbledore has or not. Also, an Aurora (spelling?) is someone who tracks down Death Eaters and keeps an eye open for Voldemort, right? just making sure. And HP overall questions: - Do you think Snape is a good wizard? why or why not? - Who is more powerful, Dumbledore or Voldemort (at the point in Goblet of Fire, no spoilers for the rest of the books, please ^^). Hello! I know Harry ended up with Ginny, had kids, blah blah. But I think it would have been fairer if he had ended up with Hermione. Why? Simple: Who helped Harry all the way since the beginning? Hermione. Who never abandoned him? Hermione (Ron did on book seven for a while). Who fought alongside Harry since the first book? It wasn't Ginny, it was Hermione, so, no wonder there are so many of us fans disgusted with the pairing (sudden pairing, because Ginny was hardly ever around in the books) of Harry and Ginny. What do you think? Is not this a little unfair? (Hey, don't judge me as a shipper fan! My shipper was actually Harry and Luna; and I'm not against Ron and Hermione, I'm just telling how unfair the Ginny-Harry pairing was ;))*I wasn't a daydreamer about the Luna-Harry shipper, I just supported that one shipper, but I never expected it to happen since I was sure Harry was going to die, that is. -SPOILERS- This is a question about the actual story. You know how they say there was a Taboo on the word 'Voldemort', and that's how the Death Eaters found the trio in Tottengham Court? How come the Taboo didn't work when they said his name in Grimmauld place? I was thinking it was because the Fidelius charm protected the house, but didn't Ron say it breaks down all enchantments? Or is the Fidelius charm somehow resistant to the Taboo?.....Peach: Yes, it is said. I found one instance where it was said, but it may have been said another time, but I'm too lazy to search for them all :P Pg 144 Hermione: Harry, Dumbledore didn't want you to use that connection, he wanted you to shut it down, that's why you were supposed to use Occlumency! And I just finished reading the part after the first task, the one with the dragons. You know how Hagrid showed Harry the dragons before? I read an article at www.thetwilightsaga.com that someone posted giving reasons why someone else hates twilight.Now I really like twilight but that article has some good points. I want your opinion on Twilight, or all the books if you read them.please. Here it is. I found this on: http://www.bookstove.com/Fantasy/Why-I-Hate-Twilight.623147. I thinks that it sums up my ideas about the book pretty well. There's also a discussion under the article. Please keep in mind: I did not write this. I do not entirely agree with 100% of everything on the list. I saw this and thought it was hilarious. My commentary is in bold. 95 reasons why you shouldn't read Twilight, one of the worst pieces of literature ever written. Bella is a perfect character (“Mary Sue”), which Meyer hides by calling her clumsy. Being clumsy is not a flaw if Edward always catches her. She can’t do anything without Edward. And when he leaves she attempts to commit suicide. Meyer is living out her own fantasies by writing about Bella, who is clearly herself. The books aren’t well written, just because every other word is a fancy adjective doesn’t make it good writing. All the rules Meyer sets for being a vampire are broken by the end of the series. Not only that, she breaks rules set by more esteemed authors. The world population will come to an end because all girls who read this book will think they are Bella and will wait for their Edward to come until they are old. And he’ll never come. Bella almost dies fifty thousand times, but Edward always saves her. This is boring. Edward is too perfect and has no flaws either. Even vampires should have flaws besides wanting to suck human blood because it’s natural to them. The reason the books became so popular is because Bella has no personality and any loser can put themselves in her shoes. If Bella is so ‘plain’, why do so many guys fall for her within the first two chapters? Bella teaches women to let the man handle everything, which pretty much is a huge step backward for women everywhere, who have fought for equality. Isn’t it convenient that her father always leaves her alone and doesn’t question her? Real parents aren’t that way. Lack of character development. Bella is a useless, whining, doll that suddenly has become the idol for girls everywhere. People say that Twilight is better than Harry Potter. Guess what? WRONG. Edward is extremely possessive, border-line abusive, and boring as anything. It’s too cliché. This book contains no real sex, so it’s not really a vampire novel. This is one I don't entirely agree with. Sure, most vampire books have sex. But I have read quite a few that don't contain intercourse. Read Anne Rice - those are vampires, not the girly men that Meyer has created. You don’t have to describe the character every two pages, we know all about Edward’s ‘perfectly toned chest’ the fourth time she mentions it. Bella reflects upon herself through the entire novel to tell important plot developments. Hey Meyer, ever heard of "Show, don’t tell"? She never uses the word fangs in the entire book series, and it’s supposedly about vampire. Her vampires sparkle. Enough said. Supposedly Meyer never uses the word ‘said’ in the entire first book, instead using breath. There is too much face touching. It’s predictable, and childish. We read the entire series just to laugh at the stupidity of it. Meyer can’t think of original names. The only original name she used was Renessme, which is combination of two names and doesn’t count. Vampires can’t get people pregnant. SPOILER! Vampire baseball was just a disgrace. People think Meyer is the best writer ever. The plot drags on forever, when it really could have been completed in two books. Wow, yet another ‘original’ plot of forbidden love. Okay, this is something I want to elaborate on. I wholeheartedly agree with this. Not only has "forbidden love" been done A MILLION TIMES, from Romeo and Juliet, to those paperback romances you see at the corner pharmacy store, but there's no forbidden in Eddy and Bellas' love. You may argue that the Volturi counted. No. The Volturi were in there for about 20 seconds as an actual threat (until you realized that Meyer would never actually let her characters be killed), and they not once mentioned the love between the two as forbidden. Their only problem was that Bella knew too much about the vampire world. [/endrant] Why is it called the Twilight Series if only one book is titled Twilight? Okay, I admit. This reason is not that good. See, I'd normally edit it out. But.... I promised myself that I wouldn't. So I won't. It’s too easy to mock. Go on Youtube, how many mocks on Twilight do you see? I only just realized this, and I'm frankly... speechless! Has anyone every realized what Trelawney's prediction means?... Dumbldore's death! I can't believe she once again made a prediction that looks so obviously fake, but was actually the future! here it is: "If Dumbledore chooses to ignore the warnings the cards show-" Her bony hand closed suddenly around Harry’s wrist. "Again and again, no matter how I lay them out," and she pulled a card dramatically from underneath her shawls. "The lightning struck tower," she whispered. “Calamity. Disaster. Coming nearer all the time." She even guessed the place of his death! I can't believe I never saw this before, did you spot it? OK, I just checked MuggleNet out, and I realized they had a 'Death Clues' page, the one I just spotted is included. Look at these ones, they're pretty interesting too: As Professor Trelawney tells us in Book 6, whenever 13 people gather, the first to leave the group will be the first to die. In chapter 5, 13 of the survivors of Voldemort's attack (Harry, Ron, Hermione, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, Fred, George, Bill, Fleur, Ginny, Hagrid, Tonks, and Lupin) all drink firewhiskey together. Lupin is both the first to finish his glass (he had "drained his glass in one") and the first to leave the gathering (to look for Mad-Eye's body). (pp 79 and 81, US edition) When George lost his ear after Voldemort's attack, he lost something that was an important part of a pair to him. This could foreshadow the loss of his twin. Ok so I have questions that were unanswered or I probrably don't remember that part. 1. Hedwig got shot by the curse, but did it say what happened to the body? 2. Just an opinion, but during Bill & Fleur's wedding, the Death Eaters attacked. Why are they so nice to Harry? He basically ruined their wedding 3. Well.. I've watched 'Zero no Tsukaima', Season 1, 2 & 3. If you haven't watched it yet- please do. Suitable from ages to (in my opinion) 15-adult. Warning: May contain spoiler! 1. I hated all the 'hentai' parts and Louise with all her destruction, she was all weak and green-eyed(jealous) most of the time- lately anime heroines are supposed to be strong, full of determination and kinda blunt. Louise is like that at first but then she just goes crazy when Saito is even next to a girl! Saito, in the other hand is kinda plain 'dumb' to me (OH, DON'T YOU DARE SHOW THAT KAWAII MORONIC FACE 0_o). All he does is to get involved with a girl one after another. I mean don't touch other girls when you are already in love with someone. He is so perverted with that 'pretty boy face' 2. I loved Lousaito(huhu..weird.. I know.. just couldn't think of a splendid name ^_^) but I didn't want anyone to interfere with their relationship(I mean com'on! Kirche, Siesta, Henrietta, Tiffania and even Tabitha 0_0 that's just plain weird!!! Ahhh!). 3. Even though, some of you may think I'm crazy but I like Julio! Yes, I think he is very much Kawaii! I'd like to see more of him and even if he ends up with Louise I won't mind *_*(hehehhe.. just kidding!). 4. Fighting- Whip? Explosions? What more can she do? I think it's better if they expressed their feelings. Like Saito saying "I love you." and meaning it because I don't want him later on to be touching another girls b00bs (sorry, I myself think it's inappropriate). 5. Siesta should seriously get a life, she is pretty-and-all but Saito obviously is in love with Louise so move on! A big warning to Tabitha too and PRINCESS HENRIETTA. Finally, If there were a season 4, I'd like Saito to become MORE envious of boys that are attached to Louise. Her only fans are ewwy old nobles. She had admirers(can't remember the episode- the one where she was offered to dance by a few and she danced with Saito) BUT no more after that(in season 1, 2 or 3!). Also, make sure the story directs to the end and not too much HENTAINESS! I know stories are made by their writers not by my demands! Though, I still hope for the better :D. I don't like weak heroines T_T! So I'd like a more stronger, happier and less jealous Louise. I loved the plot and the story very much.. hehehehe the robes remind me of Harry Potter. okay harry gains a horcrux in himself when he 'kills' volemort as a 1 year old. in 4th year he watches him come back... But doesn't he need a piece of his soul to do so?? so wouldn't that mean he needs one of his horcruxes? it always confused me. he made 6. accidently 7 when he was destroyed. but yet they are all still out there when harry has to go find them. wouldn't he need one of his horcruxes to come back in harry's 4th year. I did and I could help but think of what made it seem like the story of Christ. For example in the last book Harry very obviously takes on the Christ like figure. He willingly dies for the greater good, and then is resurrected to fight evil. Also his journey to find the Horcruxes is like that of Christ when Jesus was in the desert being tempted by the Devil. There are many many other examples of this as well. Why was this so hard for others to see the Christ like figure Harry Potter was presented as? more

im sure everyone is sick of harry potter questions but.... my 9 year old brother is an avid reader, and began reading the first harry potter book a few days ago. hes seen all the movies, and loves the story. now hes reading them because he can understand the book now.... but he keeps pestering me for what happens in the end, and i refuse to tell him. i told him last night that looking up the answers would ruin the series and i really wanted to read them with him together. BUT this morning, after i told him not get the answers from his friends (who read them already), i found out he looked up stuff on wikihow. he kept asking me if the characters who do die in the deathly hallows if they died or not. i kinda figured it out then. how do i convince him to be patient and read the book, stop looking up spoilers, and to stop pressuring me for the answers?!! i know this is a super long question, but i have no idea what to do? ahhhhhh! ive loved the hp books since i was 8, and pracically grew up on them. i want my brother to have the same experience and love for them as i do...but looking up plot spoilers wasnt what i had in mind....help please! 8) more

Ginny opened the Chamber. -Prisoner of Azkaban: Sirius Black is actually a good guy. Peter Pettigrew is a Death Eater, an animagus and still alive, and Lupin turns out to be a werewolf. Plus, Hermione has been using a time turner. -Goblet of Fire: Barty Crouch Jr. is still alive, impersonating Moody, and is Voldemort's 'most faithful' Death Eater. The cup in the maze turns out to be a portkey. -Order of Phoenix: Voldemort implanted the false image of Sirius being tortured. -Half-Blood Prince: Snape is the Half Blood Prince and kills Dumbledore. -Deathly Hallows: Harry is a Horcrux and all of Snape and Dumbledore's past. Along with the facts that Dumbledore planned his own death and Snape is a double agent. And all about the Deathly Hallows, especially the Elder Wand. The Burrow is confirmed as in the movie. Fleur Delacour and Bill Weasley have both been cut. Test Screening viewers describe Harry’s arrival: It's actually another really cute part of the movie - Dumbledore tells Harry that his trunk and Hedwig are waiting for him at the Burrow (whilst they're still... wherever they are getting Slughorn) and then it cuts to the Burrow and Ginny comes downstairs and sees Harry's stuff and yells for her mom, wanting to know when Harry arrived. Molly sticks her head over the railing from one of the higher floors and tells her that Harry HASN'T arrived and Ginny says something about his stuff being there... then Ron sticks HIS head over the railing from higher up and says, 'Did someone say Harry? What about Harry?' and Ginny says, 'Is he up there with you?' and Ron says, 'I'd know if my best mate was here, wouldn't I?' and then the same thing happens with Hermione, and they all get downstairs just as Harry comes in.
